教育在北安普敦的历史可以追溯到第十三世纪，在北安普顿大学已经从一开始的第二十个世纪是一个广泛的历史。
一千九百二十四 北安技术学院成立。圣乔治大街的建筑是由约克公爵和公爵夫人在1932开业。艺术学院成立于1937。
一千九百七十二 Margaret Thatcher打开了教育学院在1972公园校区。
一千九百七十五 内内大学从教育学院合并而成，对艺术技术学院。
一千九百七十八 伦敦leatherseller学院并入内内大学。
一千九百九十二 内内大学转让其继续教育规定的继续教育学院在北安普敦郡，集中在高等教育。
一千九百九十三 内内学院并入圣安得烈学校作业疗法被授予本科学位授予权。
一千九百九十七 护理和助产学Gordon Roberts College爵士也被纳入内内大学。
一千九百九十九 内内学院成为英国北安普顿学院大学。
二千零五 北安普顿大学成立，被授予大学学位授予权的现状与研究。
